Iron Golem Plus is a resource that replaces and expands upon the vanilla Iron Golem with an improved vanilla+ model, brand new animations, a set of armor for the golem, and a few planned future features.
Requirements:
- Officially supports 26.2+, unofficially probably supports much more just hasn't been tested on lower versions.
- Either ModelEngine or BetterModel, ModelEngine preferred because of BetterModel visual desync issues with armor pieces
- MythicMobs and MythicCrucible (Crucible required for armor to function properly)
- Craftengine (preferred), Nexo, or another plugin that can provide custom workbench and smithing table recipes. (configs only provided for CE/Nexo), required because smithing recipes are currently broken in Crucible and have been for a long time with no timeline for a fix.
-Make sure to read the README file which has more info on installation.
Current Features:
- new model, it's mostly the same as the old one so it still feels a lot like vanilla, but the arms are now segmented and can extend, and the eyes can move, as well as change color from green to red when the golem is angry. The model also cracks when the golem takes damage, and heals when you heal it with iron ingots, just like vanilla.
- 8 animations
- 2 attacks, a normal attack, and a secondary attack that tosses enemies into the air
- A new "Golem Repair Kit" item, it takes 3 iron and 1 slime ball, and will repair any Iron Golem to full health instantly upon use:
- 5 pieces of custom netherite golem armor, made by crafting a new item, diamond mesh, into the shapes of each armor piece, and upgrading those with netherite in a smithing table, these can be equipped to a golem to give them much better defense, and the gauntlets have golden spikes on the knuckles, so they also increase the golem's attack damage as well. the armor can be unequipped with shears, and is dropped on death,
Future plans:
- Make a video trailer for this pack (after MCPets integration and shield added)
-MCPets integration for more useful golems
- Netherite shield for the golem to allow blocking attacks
- improve existing attacks (and possibly add more attacks)
- better netherite gauntlet textures
- More armors?
Features that are not currently possible due to plugin bugs/limitations:
- include all recipes in the mythicmobs pack and no longer require other plugins (not possible until mythiccrucible fixes their smithing recipe support)
- polish up all the scripting to remove extra checks (requires bettermodel and modelengine bugfixes, and ~onHeal trigger addition in MythicMobs)
- add different damage amounts depending on server difficulty to mirror vanilla behavior (currently impossible in MythicMobs as far as I can tell)
